The menstruation process can be difficult enough – when you add autism to the mix, it can be very hard. The American Girl coming-of-age books (for boys or girls) are the best for gently introducing kids to their changing bodies. This is not that story. This story tries to explain to girls what they need to do each month and why it is so important to avoid discomfort, embarrassment and making a big mess.
Note: This story was designed to show my daughter what a mess this time of the month can be, to impress upon her how important it is for her to comply with protection. The illustrations are not excessive, but they do surprise some people.
